Privacy policy
This policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit kounex.com or write to us, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In short
- No cookies, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising.
- Fonts and scripts are served from our own server. Your browser does not contact Google or any other font or script CDN.
- Your IP address and request details pass through Cloudflare, which protects and delivers the site. Our own server keeps no access logs.
Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

Hosting
This website runs on our own server in Germany. Each time you open a page, your browser sends technical information with the request: your IP address, the date and time, the requested page, the referring page and your browser and operating system (user agent). Our web server uses this information only to deliver the page and does not write access logs, so nothing is stored afterwards.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is delivering a working and secure website.
Cloudflare
We use Cloudflare to deliver this website and protect it against attacks. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. All requests to kounex.com pass through Cloudflare's network, so Cloudflare processes your IP address and the request data described above. Data may be transferred to the USA.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is a fast, reliable and secure website. Cloudflare processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). Details: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Contacting us
If you write to us by email, for example using the “Get in touch” button on the front page, we process your address and message to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract, and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR otherwise. Our legitimate interest is answering you. We delete the correspondence once your request is fully answered, unless statutory retention periods apply.
Cookies and local storage
This website does not set cookies. If you use the “Motion” switch at the bottom of the front page, your choice (full or reduced motion) is saved in your browser's local storage so the page remembers it on your next visit. It never leaves your device, and you can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. Nothing else is stored.
Encryption
This website uses TLS encryption, which you can recognise by “https://” and the lock symbol in your browser's address bar. Data you send to us cannot be read by third parties in transit.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR)
- have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR)
- withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where we process data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you can object at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation. We then stop processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
To exercise any of these rights, write to the address given under Controller. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the website or the law changes. The current version is always available on this page.
